PUBLIC NOTICE

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the Natchez-Adams School District will receive sealed bids for a five-year hunting and fishing lease. Bids will be accepted at the Office of the Superintendent of Schools, 10 Homochitto Street, Natchez, Mississippi 39120 until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

The properties available for lease are as follows:
Section 05, T7N, R3W containing 3,059.00 acres more or less, minimum bid: $28.11/acre
Section 47, T6N, R1W containing 729.40 acres more or less, minimum bid: $25.00/acre

Bids will be publicly opened at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at 10 Homochitto Street, Natchez, Mississippi 39120.

All bidders are advised that, under certain circumstances, the Board of Trustees may elect to conduct an auction relating to one or more of the hunting and fishing leases being offered. Any bidder wishing to participate in such an auction must be present at the Board meeting at the time and location specified above.

A copy of the Lease Agreement is available for inspection by prospective bidders at the Office of the Superintendent of Schools. Copies may be obtained for a non-refundable fee of $3.00. Bid forms and maps are also available upon request.

Only the cash annual rental amount is subject to bid. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the amount of the proposed annual rental. The lease shall be non-assignable without prior written consent of the lessor. The successful lessee will be responsible for all applicable ad valorem taxes assessed on the property.

The hunting and fishing leases will be offered and awarded in accordance with Mississippi Code Annotated § 29-3-41.

The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
